Did you notice the subtext?

"Add two more features to your controller. Check www.heineken.com for details on how to win a Nintendo Gamecube(tm) and assert your dominance as ruler of the technology tundra"

Upon looking, this isn't even a sports ad; it is a game contest, yes, but it is also promoting the NGC as a dominant gaming platform, and the "Game day" is pretty ambiguous. Sure, the imagery (and the mag it is in) leads you to believe it is sports-related, but the subliminal stuff really rocks.


Edit: Oh, and like 90% of the rest of Nintendo's ads, they show the console in the lower-right. In fact, the header line, and the placement of the console, is extremely similar to the print ads of the original launch ads....
