i liked the sorcerer in the 1st 1 just cos i prefer the 1st one and its spell gaining method u got spells when you found the book not by lvling up so your spells could get really powerfull in all areas not just a frw cos u had to spread out points

my fav is the sorc in the 2nd. Her spells are sweet and very powerfull. If you get the expansion you canget the charms that give you more to a persons skills, which makes them a heck of a lot stronger.

For me, it's definitely the assassin and/or the necromancer. And yep, I'm talking about in the expansion of course.

Paladin all the way. They can go through the game by themselves so easy. Its a shame that they wasted things like holy bolt and then made it useless...

I liked the basis for the Paladin, but his skills were kinda stupid. Overall I played as him most, but I also was the Barbarian. I thought the game was too easy as Barbarian. I just gave him two two-handed swords and swathed a path through the monsters, leaving no remorse.

Shapeshifter Druid or Summoner/Curser Necromancer of Polearm Barbarian.

Wait, all time best Diablo character was the Monk. From Hellfire.
Yeah, I'm a true diablo fan, I've got hellfire.

Hellfire, the expansion for diablo one was in stores for a short time, then disappeared. you can't find it at the blizzard home site, though I would recommend amazon.

I never played Hellfire either. I always forgot about it, when I would go out.

So, I am going to go with the assassin.
Necromancers are fine in a battlenet party, but for solo play, I can't stand em.
I love the assassin. Her abilities rock, she's fast, strong for a girl,
(I mean for a female character, chill out ladies) and levels up faster than most.
My second fav. is the druid. Nothing like morphing in the werebear, while your poison creeper, creeps around.

After that I love the barbarian. Just an all around in your face, hack 'em, bash 'em dude.

In Diablo one, my fav character, is actually the npc Grizwold. The guy is just too amusing. Get's a little odd after 8 hours of play and you start talking like him, but I suppose it's an occupational hazard, as the saying goes.

I have hellfire and good luck finding it know. As thunderstruck said, it was only in stores for a short amount of time. The game was actually develped by seirra not Blizzard. It adds quite a bit to Diablo as far as gameplay and new items goes but the story is lame.

If you can't tell by the username and IC char on here. I'm Necro's all the way.

They arn't at an extremely high lvl but I'm working on one of each of the main Necro classes.

I got a bone/poisonmancer
And a cursemancer
I'll mak a zoomancer and keep the skeletons useful by having a bunch of them and soup up iron maiden (kamakazee skelies xD) BTW in that case would a pally w/ thorns help that even more ?

Yeah, heaps of good luck finding it. If it had been devolped by blizzard, then you'd still be able to get a copy by ordering it from them. but as it is.... well, yeah.

Assassin, levelup wake of fire and u r invinsible.

Alara Kiranor
10-16-2004, 02:17 AM
Wake of Fire? Haven't tried that one, but Tiger Strike and Cobra Strike used at the same time (charging one up, then the other) is totally wicked, and I find pheonix strike drills the creatures who are immune to physical. I personally don't like the assasin I have. She wears sigon's complete steel and only one claw (I've yet to find bartuc's cut throat ;) ) so she doesn't really do well in close combat. That's whay I like my Amazon.
Now, an Amazon with Lycander's Flank on one hand, and Titan's Revenge on the other (as well as a shield with +1 to all skills, a diadem with +1 to Amazon Skills, and a pair of gauntlets that have +3 to Javelin and spear skills) is nearly undefeatable. Couple that character with a Fanatic/Zealot Paladin, and you have an unbeatable team. :rotflmao:

paladin. the perfect zeal pally can break 50k damage with a full zeal. as for wake of fire, its worthless. your much better off going with lightning sentry and maxing out all of the lighning trap skills giving you over 2.5k damage without any skill bonuses. but with skill bonuses from items and the such, you can easily break 7k. the problem with trap assasins is that nobody likes them on online play. everyone thinks that they're a cheap way of winning, and that they're overly powerful. and then there's the lightning sorceress which can do up to 25k dmg with the right items and skills.

I think that barbarians are the best and most powerful.

Ha! Tell me how zeal can reach 50k.

there are two new runewords that blizzard just released that aids the zeal pally dramaticly: grief and fortitude. use fortitude with an armor, and grief with a one-handed weapon, and both combined gives around +1000% to physical dmg (just a guess). and then with maxed out Zeal, maxed out Sacrifice (giving a huge bonus to the dmg of Zeal), maxed out Fanatisism, and other godly equipment, you can easily reach 50k.

as for a barbarian, if you make one right, it will rival a zeal pally. an armor fortitude, and duel weapon fortitudes in each hand will give +1500% defense in all. needless to say that this makes the barbarian VERY hard to hit. then with maxed out frenzy and whirlwind, you go and use frenzy until you know that its impossible to have your run/walk speed to go any higher, then whirlwind lik crazy. doin this, the whirlwind reaches an incredible spead that you have to see to believe. but charging up the frenzy leaves you wide open for a barrage of attacks, and you probably would be dead before you got even close to being ready to unleash your ultimate whirlwind attack.

I had just thought about the new ladder only runewords after I posted. But I didn't do ladder season 2 I just stayed on non-ladder and did LLD.

I just went over to the Arreat Summit to have a look at those runewords, and they're pretty damn good. Now, If only I get online...

I was also just on there and I think they changed the abillities for Foritude. I don't think it does 300% enchanced damage with the armor anymore btu I don't know for sure. Do you know Tyrial?

Anyway I may be giving up some of my stuff soon so you may want to keep an eye out. It wont be godly stuff but hey...

no, i never really knew the exact stats of fortitude or grief because i dont know of any site that shows the new runewords, or updates very often.

I like playing the assassin (Diablo II expansion pack). I just love the idea of setting traps and leading the monsters into them. It also helps keep my character from taking too much damage. Couple her with a Rogue (picked up in Act I) and she really lays waste to monsters. Once you get your Shadow, the killing comes a lot more often. Not yours, the monsters. lol

The amazon. Though the game was too easy because of the skill...was it stab (can`t remember), well anyway.

Well, it's been awhile since I played that game...2 years atleast, but I can't remember a skill named Stab. I'm wanting to think it's, because everyone used and seemed to love it, Strife.

I loved the Assassin the most. She was great. To me seemed close to perfectly balanced. Close-ranged attacks, and if you level up the traps enough, long ranged, and some of the traps, or all(can't remember,) are elemental as well. So you get to get kickass upclose, from a distance and still have a sense of magic. Can't forget she's pretty fast and strong, if you do right about her.

I think I had her at level 60 atleast. Then we moved and lost game, and haven't played since.

The Paladin is my personal preference, although the sorceress is quite powerful as well.

In Diablo 1, I prefer the warrior.

Was anyone else dissapointed with how easy Diablo was at the end of D1? I played them in the wrong order(d2, THEN d1), and I remember my fingertips growing cold as I fought Diablo in the second one(offline, so I was alone).

Then I went and finished Diablo 1, and was most dissapointed when I found that Lazurus was harder than Diablo.

Well Lazurus is pretty simple with a scroll of stone curse. But yeah Diablo wasn't real hard when I got to him. I went around and killed all his minions that come out of the room before I killed him. Of course I had a staff with apocalypse (sp) charges so I blasted those out then wasted the rest of the monster with the moving fire wall thing and chain lighting. And actually holy bolt works really well on Diablo.

That was the guided arrow because the pierce on it made it so one arrow would hit someone up to 4 times.

Everyone loves strife because it's good.... It's as simple as that. If you want to make an effective dualing zon (and dualing zons don't stand up at all), you NEED strife.

Yes, the trap asn is fun to kill newbies with, but agaisnt experienced players with perfect pally or barbarian builds, they don't stand a chance. This is simply because of resistances to lightning and fire.
