I have no clue what you are talking about. Could you please be a little less mysterious and more descriptive?

LARP stands for Live Action Role Playing.

LARPs are usually WhiteWolf affairs, dealing with Vamps, Mages, and Werewolves.

characters meet in costume and interact as though they were their characters. Symbols and gestures are used to signal things. Combat is resolved using paper, rock, scissors.

There are special rules for LARPing, and game rules are sometimes highly modified.

Well, I have to agree with this definition of what LARP is, but I have to add something:

LARP isn't just a White Wolf-thing. There are also fantasy LARPs, where you wear leather armors and chain mails, talk to elves and dwarfs (and sometimes other strange creatures) and live like people in the middle ages did.

Here in Germany, we have both kinds. Every bigger city has its own Vampire-domain and there are many organisations, which arrange fantasy LARPs.

I am a big fan of live action, I will join the cam when I come of age, (In fact the character I'm playing is basted off my last Tremere) but for right now I am in a troop game the only thing that bugs me is that the rules keep changing. Take Arms of the abyss, (Obteration 3rd level basically a 6' tentacle made out of shadows.), first you can use, potence (hit hard) and fortitude (soak damage) then you can't but you can use celerity (move fast) then it gets changed again and you can't use any other disciplines with them except for obten. really annoying.

Unfortunately, change is part of every system. I've had to totally re-create my character at Mystic Realms 3 times in 4 years because of rule changes.

Yes, they're confusing, but usually they're for the best. Most of the changes made in our system were to correct imbalances. For example, 3 years ago, first level bards had one a very damaging spellsong, that was also determined to be "broken", because there was only 2 ways to counter it.

The spell was Discordance, and once the bard had identified their target and gotten their attention (By name if you knew it, or by description. "Yo, You in the Green tabard!" worked if it got them to look at you.) could sing 16 syllables and do one point of damage for a 1-mana cost. However, bardic songs continue in effect for as long as the bard sings - after each subsequent 16 syllables, the target would lose an ADDITIONAL hit point, with NO ADDITIONAL MANA COST. I could theoretically do an infinite amount of damage as long as I kept singing.

There was also no way the target could save themselves unless someone else killed me, a necromancer used the spell "wither tongue" on me, or someone saved the target by giving him deafness poison, none of which are common, easy things.

So, basically, they changed that spell out right quick - made it a MUCH higher level spell, and then I think they eliminted it entirely.

That spell should be on the same para as power word death, d&d. I agree with a lot of the changes but I just wish they would agree on something and leave it alone.
