What was everyones first character? Please Include class, race, name, and brief description.
Thanks.
Mine, was an elven druid named Feather Breeze. I was very lucky I have a very lenient DM, as long as it doesn't bring game play out of balance, I can pretty much do as I wish with my characters. When she was close to retirement, we role-played her falling in love and the rest, and she had a child, whom I now play with a new group, and the Breeze Legacy shall continue on....

Mine was an elven mage. I won't tell his name, though, because it is a very very bad name - I did not know anything about fantasy-names 3 years ago (that's when i first played). I rp'ed him for almost 1½ year, and he ended up being a chosen of Mystra (goddess of magic in Forgotten Realms). He was a very good character, though I like my present, the third one, most. It's an wild-elven (yeah, I love elves) fighter with a spiked chain - he truly pwnz!

My first character was an Elf. I learned how to play under the original D&D rules, where Elf, Dwarf, and Halfling were classes. I only played him for about 3 months. I was rather young when I started him, so I didnt give him much background.

Thanks guys, hopefully we can get some more responses. I have to admit that I love elves...they would have to be my favorite.

My 1st character was a 2nd ED character, and still is my 2nd ED character is a Bard named Leinad (Daniel backwards I couldnt think of a name). I've had him for about three years now. When I 1st created him he didnt have much background but I developed it as I became to understand the game. He did die twice but he's a surviour lol, His main characteristic is running away. My fave items he has (boy there are a few lol) is his bag of holding, his +4 bastard sword that tells him to do bad things and gains control of him when ever his HP gets low, his boots of flying, his boots of elven kind (he wears one pair at a time) and his clock of elven kind. he was a half elf

Well, since we're sort of on the topic of magical weapons, the only one that Febbie really had was her staff, granted to her by the avatar of the Druids after her and the rest of her adventuring group freed the King of Dragons from an evil Goddess' Priest Order....man that was a one of a kind adventure. (Febbie, was Feather Breeze's nickname, granted to her by the Dragon Clan, long story, and I am really way off topic.)
Gamior
03-01-2003, 03:03 PM
Cool, I know this is off topic but what did the staff do?
I think people value their first character a lot if they have played with it enough, because its kinda like you've both been there from the start and you both learnt how things worked together lol ah well thats what i think any way

Well.....I'm quite new to D&D...so...yeah. I'm still on my first character, whom is created from 3rd ed rules (And NWN, I might add....lmao)
I'll post him later....I've got his stats somewheres around here...
Gamior
03-02-2003, 09:20 AM
Lol ah NWN never really got into that game, pretty cool though, I just missed thr party system lol. What class is he/she? and what level he/she at now?
*PS this is my 400th post wuhoo! yay go me lol :)

Congrats Gamior, 400th! Wow, I can tell I'm still new, how can you find out how many posts you've done?
Now, to answer your question about her staff. It had many powers, and it was intelligent. One of the coolest attributes was that it gained powers as I gained levels. At first, all it could do was allow me to speak w/ animals/plants, cast light, and grow a massive spiked knob at the end for bashing. Febbie had quite a temper when people disobeyed her forest law. Later on in her adventuring career, the staff allowed her the speed of a cheetah (so many times per day), sight of an owl at night, and the spider climb ability. Towards the end of her career she could turn people into trees! I remember the time this paladin told her she was evil and that people were more important than animals, she turned him into a tree and then the rest of her order came to avenge him.

I had a hmmm...half-elf Rouge/fighter. I was like 9 when I first played so not much of a Back ground His name was Amuk....yes like the rampage. And he met his demise in a necromancer village...in a most horrific way...his soul was ripped out through his mouth that was great
Gamior
03-02-2003, 01:12 PM
Lol wow what away to die! I started playing when I was about 13.
Enestrium underneath your avie there is some lil bits of info the bottom ones of these is the amount of posts you have. Thats a pretty cool staff, I must admit I am rather fond of intelligent weapons lol, MY sword use to argue with this pure good sword the paladin in our party had lol. Turning people to trees must be fun lol too bad about the paladins coming after her lol

What does NWN stand for, I am not familiar with that game? Anyone in the middle of a really cool campaign? Currently, I am not, but, we have just finished saving the world from the 9 Vampire Lords of Hell, and the really bad part is that the world wasn't even aware of the danger, and the treasure level was low. Oh well, such is the life of a Paladin (my now character).

NWN means Neverwinter Nights. It's a game that's a tiny bit like Diablo (But it's in 3D), And it uses the 3rd Ed DND rules for creating characters and fighting, ect. (It also takes place in Faerun, the most well known DnD world.....the Baldur's Gate Map, too)
It's a really awesome game, And I recommend it (especially to fans of dnd)
Enestrium
03-02-2003, 10:11 PM
AH!!!! I didn't think of Neverwinter Nights! I have heard great things about it, but haven't had the pleasure yet. I am a great fan of DnD. Thanks for the info, I just didn't connect.

I liked NWN just my pc was too slow to play it so there was lots of slow down and that just ruins a game so I stopped playing it :( But I have a new graphics card so it might work now I'll have to try it :) my 1st character on NWN was a half elf ranger and my side kick was Tommi god he was fun lol :)

I'm still playing my first 3rd Ed character. He's a human Pal7, Sor4, Spellsword4. Assuming he survives the next gaming session (See thread:Campaign Suggestions), he is going to be 16th level very soon (probably Spellsword5, but I might add a level of either Ranger or Fighter). His favorite weapon was a Holy +1 Mty Composite Longbow (+4), but it was destroyed in a Firestorm spell. His favorite now is a +3 Keen Ghost-touch Bastard Sword. He also has a suit of +3 Elven Chainmail with Call Armor on it, and a +5 Lg Shield.
My next PC will likely be an Elven wizard; I doubt this one will survive the next session, and I'm thinking of putting him in semi-retirement anyway.

I can't even say for sur what my first character was, i was probably eight or nine when I first started playing DnD. The earliest character I can remember was a tribal barbarian (Fighter with berserker kit 2nd Ed) that had a griffon mount. His best piece of equipment would probably have been his blowgun that poison coated any dart put in it, or his +4 battle axe. A really funny event that happend to him was that his griffon died and he had it reincarnated by a tribal shaman and it came back as a human, a female human. It was around then that I stopped playing that character and had him settle down and become the leader of his tribe. My favorite character that I have played is my current charater in my friends campaign (Tythorn) is a Lawful Good Half-Drow Ranger/Monk (1/4) He currently has 1 magic item that I know of +1 nunchaku. I have also played his twin brother a Lawful Evil Half-Drow Fighter/Sorcerer (5/2) and his best item was twin bastard swords, one +2 and one +1. Whew... I cant remember them all that well because I'm one of those people that as soon as he makes a character he's already dreaming up another. Anyone else have that problem?
scry the mage

mine was a grey elf wizard specilized in the knowledge of dragons
even created a spell called pit of dragon hearts what ever the breath weapon of the dragon if he had the heart it could create a pit of that breath weapon it did 1/2 dmj of the breath and last only 3 hrs and took 2 turns to construct 7lvl spell retired at 21 lvl

Heh ... I started out at age 9 with the OLD D&D sets - just prior to the boxed 'basic' and 'expert' sets. I also started as a DM, not a player - since I was the only one who had the game.
I think the first PC I ever had was an Elf ... yes, back in the Basic set, Elf and Dwarf were classes as well as races! :D
My first character was an elven rogue named Garret.he was a pathetic weakling, I spared him humiliation and eliminated him, now I am almost exclusively DM

I had a Kendar Thief lost in Worderlust. It was a great and powerful character. Now I'm a cleptomaniac Piromaniac human that hardly gets by. It's great!

I cannot remember my first D&D character; I've been playing since roughly 1979 (1st Ed.). My best character in first ed. was a half-elf fighter/magic user. I retired him at around 10th level, and used him as an npc. In the last campaign he appeared in, he was 15th level, and had reclaimed his father's kingdom.
(I am currently trying to convert him to 3rd Ed. for use in my current campaign, IF I can ever get the party into that area of Greyhawk. Unless I eliminate his psionic abilities, he ends up being like 40th level. . . :) )

My first(and only) dude is a half elf cleric mage. Since when i started, everyone else was high level, my chartcer started at level 9/9. What else can i say? Chaotic Neutral, he loves to protect himself and hardly ever fights.

Everquest d20 Human Necromancer. I wanted backup.
But my first "Real" D&D character is a NE Human Hexblade. The Necro's sister.
The third character is the third sister. A Human Paladin.
They actually get along most of the time.

My first character was a High Elf Druid. He made it all the way to 20th, and gaind a kingdom, an army of Elves wrongfully killed by orcs in an epic battel when my guy was a chiled, and gaind a butiful human wife that took me most of the campaing to win over to my undieing love. Those where the days, no stupid plots, no gods showing up the second day of play to give us an unrealistic holly mission, and us surviving it!...
Oh. Sorry. I'm rambleing.

My first ever character was a 2nd Ed paladin I made when I was 9. I ran him for about 10 years, with a couple years retirement in the middle. Okay, not really a retirement, more like a "floating around an artic ocean in a block of ice until someone came around and thawed me out."
My first 3rd ed character was a half-elf druid. I always wanted to play a druid in 2nd, but they were way too restained. When I saw them as a standard class in 3rd, I nearly wet myself.
And if it matters, my first 3.5 character was... actually, IS, an Oriental Adventures samurai, being played in Ravenloft. This isnt easy, so its a good thing he's lawful-evil (and already one step down the Dark Path ;) ).

My first character was a human ranger by the name of Lucifer... pretty low stats for WIS and CHA but had decent STR and DEX so it all worked out. I played a couple of adventures with him, gained a dragonnet familiar and then followed a white light, was transported to another plane and came back with my alignment changed to lawful good... instant Paladin! I haven't played him since my 2nd Ed. group broke up but I still have the character sheet... hmmm.

My first character was a elfen wizard, named Guldon, there was never a prestige class since this was back in 2 edition and we didn’t have that many books. I ended the character as a level 20 necromancer with a drocklich and a black tower, with a horde of undead minions. Good times, good times.

My first and best character was a Druid... It was an elf though... HORRIBLE FOR DRUIDS! When it really gets down to it a druid needs mainly 2 things, Wisdom and Constitution. Wisdom for all abilities and Constitution for the obvious, health. Dexterity and strength are nearly useless. Going back to the character; my character had a + to dexterity (useless) and a minus to constitution (useful)... What great planning.
Druids definately rule... I had a whole bunch of great items... I had an elven cloak or something (+10 to hide) and then I could cast "Embrace wild" and get an aditional 20 on hide and then another aditional 20 for another spell... I was hidden and that was that. I could also get 40 on move quietly... I was one sneaky druid.
When it came to fighting I would turn into an octopus and attack the crap out of everything. Then try to grab. If things got hopeless I would just cast "flame strike" and kill everything. Then if things went sour I had a ring of invisibility to get away from things... Plus I could turn into something else and fly away. Quick, silent, deadly (plus can turn into an octopus)... What more do you need?

My first Char was a half bronze dragon half drow sorcerer. Toward the end of the campaign, it was revealed that my char was the son of Bahamut and Elistraee as a last attempt to save the drow from the fate Lloth put them to, after his defeat, he was put to sleep fro thougsands of years. This is echoed in my character Cyril now here on RPGC, but it's kind of cliched no?

Oh my. My first character was an Elf named Zark. In the Blackmoore box set, predating the Basic D&D books the elf was your race and class basically a Fighter/Mage. There were only three alignments then too Law, Neutrality, and Chaos.

mine was a half-elf rouge, assassian. but my dm was retarded and made corrolian come down and i was his son and became a god, it was the gayest campaign ever, well at first it was great but things changed fast. Isn't d&d sussposed to be a challange? i thought so.
Rhelkin
04-30-2004, 08:14 PM
My first character was a monk named Rhelkin. My DM is great, things obviously aren't all that great with the exp, but with a group of over 10 people it is hard to give out any more. We always have some huge battle, and it takes sometimes forever because people won't shut up, but other than that it is a very good experiance.
I am in a forgotten realms campeign on another night, and that one is more of the Rp type, but also has an amazing story line built up so far. Looks like a tough battle to go through in the future but my Druid should be able to get through it. There are only three other members with me in this one so it goes much smoother, and we get a lot more done.

My first ever character was a 2nd Ed. Bard/rogue or whatever the class was technically called. She was an elven bard, and that campaign was rather short lived. But it was a lot of fun---my first actual exposure to DnD, LoL.
My first 3rd Ed. character was also a bard, in Ravenloft. Made it all the way to sixth level, LOL.
Ah memories. ^^

Hmm. The first D&D game I ever played was Baldur's Gate, I think. If memory serves me right, my first character was a half-elf fighter/druid. Which bugged me, because almost immediately after playing, I get Jaheira into my party, and she's a half-elven fighter/druid with better stats than me! :(
My first pen-and-paper D&D character was a half-elf ranger, and she actually made it all the way to 14th level, in eight months of playing every Sunday.

I had a Halfling Rogue. Because I'm a badass. So far I've stolen like a crap load of stuff. Almost got our group thrown into an Orc encampment. I rock so much though cause they never stuck it on me. Mainly because of the 12 foot tall werebear we have in the group.
My first D&D character was a Human Paladin I played at a convention. First gaming session I ever had. At least he didn't die :)
i can't play paly's... i don't know why but i can't.. its not just there class, well kinda, but the whole lawful... i can play lawfull evil and thats it... i HAVE to be chaotic, don't know why...

First ever was a 1st level Sorceror named Quarion Naïlo. Because the DM r0xx0red beyond belief, I managed to get him up to lvl 9. By then, he had gotten to an accident (mixed magic >.<) that allowed him to use lightning attacks (shocking grasp, electric orb, lightning, ball lighting, chain lightning) a certain amount of times per day. If he had leveled up more, eventually the force would have been too much for him to contain, and he would have exploded. Fortunately I stopped playing him before that happened.
Usually it seems like all my chars end up being arcane magic weilding thieves in some form or another. The only breakaway was my half-celestial Bard/Cleric/Fighter. I'm usually either NG or CN as well.

my first character was from dark sun 2nd ed, he was a Thri-kreen gladiator named Grod
he had been released from slavery when his city-states sorcerer king was killed then he got assigned to the city watch. I only had him as long as I was visiting my uncle so for about a week or two but it was still fun

My first character was a human Paladin. I was in 7th grade when I started him and I wasn't really organized at playing DnD back then so I didn't really give any thought to the creation of my character or his stats.

Personally, I've never been good with clerics or mages. I couldn't even play a druid really well unless i made him a purely melee character. Magic just ain't my thing. I prefer fighters of chaotic good alignment. Sometimes human, sometimes tiefling (those were CN generally), I'd like to try a half-drow fighter one of these days though. :extra10:
My First 2nd Edition Character was a Human Male Barbrian named Thor. He was in search of his Last Name and After half a year of playing him i he earned the last name of Scar for always taking the brunt of attacks ( most of our party were mages...booo) He was a great fighter but for some reason every other time we played he would always somehow lose all of his stuff. Like this one time he got disingrated for trying to turn so mistic Druids pet wolfs into clothes (stupid old hag :extra3: ) and i had just gotten some really cool crystal swords and axes. My First 3rd Edition Character was with a new group and i had a Fighter but quickly changed to a Cleric named Coo Net (i have no clue where that name came from) and i got to make my own goddess to worship (Celet, ask me if you want her stats and junk), he was always helping the group. It did take them a while to realize that i could use turn undead hehe.

My first Character was a fighter named Nelix. He survived to 5th level. One of the coolest things that happened to him was that he lost his soul to a bad card out of a modified deck of many things. LOL...that wasnt the cool thing... the party kept making Nelix draw more cards from the deck. One of the cards turned out to be a Black Panther, that had some special abilities. Man..he loved that cat...anyways, we were defending our home and a mage killed him with a fire ball....In an act of pure grief and hatred he jumped from the 50 ft wall landing on the mage and killing him....it was a good death and fun character... I was hooked from then on.
