OK. some advice to you all. NEVER agree to let your 11yr old brother take control of your campaign and be DM :extra4:
ok... so we had reached level 3 when I had to let him be DM (he moaned to parents -.-) now I had a large map of the flannes in oerth and we had been up in the mountains with some dwarfs that was until... my brother took over.
After only half an hour of play we had a ring that controlled everything. we could make mountains shoot out of the ground and turn the air to fire. We could make the land disapeer from under peoples feet and suck the ozygen from the air weee how chalangeing -.-
THEN he read the bit on the map "ice barbaians" and so forth... and we ended up with 3 armys of barbarians. :extra6:
We went on to become gods and take over the world... untill I got back as DM and wasted them all by other angry gods. Who still would of got beat if my brother had played "The other gods cough and die. you win" I would of killed him.
Is there real rules for being gods?

I remember being 11 years old and a DM...granted I didn't allow my friends to take over the world...I usually rigged the dice and killed them off...ahh the greatness of being one...and no there are no rules to being a god...if the DM says it it goes...

Actually, there's a bunch of rules for playing gods in Deities and Demigods, followed by a severely shortened set of pantheons... Didn't Deities used to carry like 20 pantheons in it or somehting long ago? Anyway, Deities covers almost anything you might need for letting your players become gods in your campaigns, including helping you figure out *why* you're gonne become a god... lol

One time my brother's best friend was the DM and whenever we'd get a crappy number on the dice he'd always say "role again" until we got something that was really good, which made things way to easy.

I've been playing D and D for 3 years now, and i haven't run into a bad DM yet. Guess I'm lucky ^_^
I think I'd be a bad DM though, because I'm way too nice, I think I'd start to get boring.

A bad DM is one that brings you into a cave, mind you theres about only 3 lvl 3's and maybe 4 lvl 2's in your party..you wander around in the cave for hours and then find some treasure etc..on your way back out suddenly a Black Dragon Appears at the cave entrance and Obliterates the entire party.....Next time a DM Asks whats your Favorite Color...Say Puce of Pink...Because you know he is asking for a Dragon Color.

Doesn't help if the DM has the Slayer's Guide to Dragons... I don't know what colors make puce, but a pink dragon would be a mix between a Red Dragon and a White Dragon... And it would have both Fire and Cold breath weapons.... :: shudders ::

If the DM is immature I'd suggest you not play at all if no one else is available (try online to single play gmaes). Everyone is different but when I started playing in jr high I was more mature than most so if I had a Dm like those mentioned earlier I would have left the table in disgust. Munchkin gaming is fun when you have a charcter you really don't care about, and can be a good break from serious campaigning, but I don'tER play in such a groups or let a DMs like that ruin my character or his/her experiences in such a totally outrageous manner.
I had my very first character ruined like that and made sure it never happens again...

I havn't had a DM like that, but I have had two diffrent DMs make it my personal quest to kill the other party members. No big deal, I didn't think I would even get a chance to consider killing them, but in both games, at the end of the first fight every one was either in the negs or staggered, everyone but me, cus gunmen don't need to get up close in a fight, so the first time this happened I followed through and completed my mission, big mistake. For thirthy minuets they yelled at me untill the DM steped up and told them he asked me to do that, as you can guess I didn't repeat the act twice.
