Does anyone else have this problem?

Ok so I have had my Ps2 since launch date in 2k... and it has been working fine.... until now. I know not to tip it on its side or anything... but when I want to play ps one games on it..... it will eat the disk...... leaving a fine scratch on the game... does this mean i can never play ps1 games on my ps2? it says disc read error.... if anyone else has this prob please let me know!! thanks!

me and my friend had that trouble a couple days ago. i dont know if it scratched it tho. We couldn't play FF8 greatest hit. what game/s were they?

i was able to play ff9, and am thinking of buying the remake of ff4, just hope it doesn't scratch the disc. but did anyone else notice that all the games you guys said it scratched were ff's. thats kinda odd.
