Ps2 Dvd Problems!

Does anyone ever have trouble playing dvd's on their ps2s? I just went out yesterday and bought two new DVD's to add to my huge anime collection. Anime is all i have besides Evil Dead 2. Anyway, all my other movies work and all movies i have ever played in it. But I decide to go out and spend some money and i bought "Blood: The last Vampire" excellent movie, and The "Cowboy Bebop : session 1" DVD and my ps2 wont play bebop dvd, says "Disc Read Error". It only does it on my bebop dvd and this is the first time ever it hasn't read a dvd. Please help. Don't tell me to get "Region x" or something because yes the dvd is Region 1, and that would be United States and Canada. So that is not the problem, Don't tell me to open up my Playstation to fix anything, and dont tell me my disc is dirty, its brand new. If you just know anything about this please let me know.

Citan! I ran across the exact same error with my DVD for the PS2. I angrily voiced my opiniona dn was told it was the DVD. I tested the DVD on a DVD player. Both the stand alone and the one on my computer. The DVD played perfectly. Just not on my PS2.

It played the other discs for the series perfectly, just not that one. I was told the PS2 DVD's have many errors seeing as adding the DVD was a last minute decision and they'd not been perfected. I was angry.

I don't want to buy new parts for it. Paying for the PS2 was enough, but additional parts drive me up the wahzoo. The other folks I know with PS2's have had the same problem. Maybe it's generic, but I'd like it cured.

Thanks Belle! So I guess I'll just watch that one some other way, and see if the other ones work!

LOL, I've only tried a few DVDs but they haven't failed so maybe if I buy more, I'll experience this little problem?

Hope and cross your fingers that you won't. But thus far, everyone I know with a PS2 DVD has eventually suffered problems with it. :extra11: It's not cool at all >_<

I got DVD problems as well...But that's my computer DVD...

Now on Ebay some DVDs are being listed as PS2 compatible. Well, the PS2 is at least a noticed as a dvd player. and maybe thisll never occur again. Will we ever know, or remember what the question was when we do know. In fact, i already forgot what i said.

Yeah I saw that PS2 compatibility sign too. You'd figure if it was a DVD player inside, it'd play fine...:extra3:

Bah, well, as long as whatever the problem is, is fixed, we'll live. Hm, DVDs arent perfect and neither are the players.
