FF 7, 8, and 9 remakes.

I read in PS magazene that they are remaking the Final Fantasy 7-9 for the PS2. What do you all think of this?

i can understand 7 and 8, but i honestly think 9 doesn't need a remake. it was good just as it was.

I agree. I don't think 8 even needs to be remade. It's not old enough. Final Fantasy 7 however was made when they were just testing the limitations of 3d animation. And now to look back on it, the people are a pain on the eyes.

But it costs a lot to do extensive work on remaking a game. It's not like pez. The most they would do is beef up the animation scenes, and hopefully add new ones and change the sprites(the characetrs) to look neater.

But I like the classics, sorry for me being old school, but I like the way they look. It symbolizes a generation. And it makes me feel proud and old.

I say leave the classics alone. Right now, I know fissure that they are remaking Final Fantasy 7. I don't, however, know about Final Fantasy 8 & 9. I'd say FF8-9 had good enough graphics and don't need to be repaired at all but FF7 had a blocky 3-D look so I can't go against a remake. You figure that not as many people liked FF8 as FF7 therefore showing that Square could go at a loss of money. Hell, I wouldn't buy an FF8-9 remake. Squaresoft could make a 3 disc game thing that contains FF7, 8, and 9, all in one. So if people didn't like FF7(very rare), they'd have FF8-9 therefore making them have to buy the games. But then how would they deal with prices...hmm....

I am sure they are emaking 7, 8, and 9. I read it in the official U.S. Plastation Mag. Unless of course they are wrong, but I doubt it.

Damn right Doc!! Some people won't play games like Xenogears because of the out dated graphics! Well, to hell with them! That was our generation, and when it was new I still remember going, "Wow, what awesome graphics!"

...What can i say? I liked FF 8. The story was a lil' off, but still it had a nice cast of characters. Who can forget how ugly Squall was?! And how Irvine as such a 'talker' He fronted juz about everythin'. And then there was good ol' "Chickenwuss." Haha

I'd buy the remake. Especially to see how much they upgraded Rinoa's looks. :D And Selphie! But errhm, I dont really care much for Quistis that much. (Who cares 'bout her! :mad: )

But anyway----That's my worthless 3 cents.

I would like totally love to see every final fantasy game ever made including gameboy titles packed into a box set {such as lunar or ark the lad collection, except with each game on seperate disk playable for ps2. } You know, after the older systems they've quit making go out for good, {like im having a hassle getting my regular 8 bit to work} we won't have a way to play them, and I personally love some of the older games. Who here has the guts to stand up for what should indeed be done?

I just have one word for you. Emulators. I don't realy like using them on modern games, but there great for old 8 bit games.

They had a street fighter collection like that a while back, I don't see why they couldn't do it for Final Fantasy, only problem being is Square will never do it because it would take forever to do it and they are not willing to put enough money into doing it

Yea I mean some titles have been done like that as you said Katana like street-fighter, I think personally that square would make enough money off the sales to cover the production price with ease, I would buy it. Anyways, Whats with FFXI I haven't heard much on it except something about selecting and controlling your own species or race. Whats going on?

That is crap, 7 and 8 are awesome..no remake is going to improve it. They are classics. Nothin can compare to Final Fantasy 7.

8 SUCKED BALLS... 7 was good and 9 was good
but the one they trully need to remake is 4 and 5 if both of those had 3d graphics they would both be tremendously better
and six doesnt really have to be redone its good by itself

I havn't beaten any FF games. I'm close to beating both 10 and 8. 7 I just started. Its kind of hard to fight SIn in 10. His overdrive form is hard to beat. With his finall move that kills you right off the back. I hate it. He all ways has 1 HP left then he does that move.

an easy way to beat OverDrive Sin is to 1. GET ANIMA 2.GET MAGAS SISTERS. get them to Overdrive get Yuna to Overdrive GRAND SUMMON one or the other make sure Anime does about 50000 damage or the Magus Sisters doing 70000 about with Specails so when u do Overdrive it goes about 99999 the reason for these 2 is that they don't need a Celestral Weapon to actavate the Aeon Break Damage Limit. if u need more help e-mail me at Psyfi619@yahoo.com.

or you could just spend hours hovering around the save sphere in unknown dungeon leveling up, so when your low on hp, just tap into the save sphere
