Sacred is Sacred, not Diablo 3.

Yeah, I don't think they'll be comin' out with Diablo 3 for a while. They possibly could but I doubt it. We'll see in a while though.

There are current issues with a Diablo 3. Seen as Diablo is Bill Ropers creation (Original Auther / creator of diablo), part of the copyrigt belongs to him and as now he and many other key blizzard employes left to create a nother company ( Flag Ship Studios http://www.flagshipstudios.com/ ) there will most likely be a problem if either Flag Ship of Blizzard attemp to make a Diablo 3.

Don't get me wrong, For years I was a diablo, junkie. But What would be the point of a diablo 3? Baal's gone, Mephisto's gone, and big D himself got thrashed in his own home in hell, and sucked beyond hell into the abyss. Now I suppose, seeing as his soulstone got dropped off in the rogue pass (review the d2 preview on the starcraft disc), that maybe just maybe they could rig it, to where some hapless mage or something accidentally summons him back from the pit, but somehow I doubt it. That would be too countercreative for Mr. Roper, and crew.
At the end of Lord of Destruction, when Tyrael shattered the world stone, It pretty much nailed the diablo series coffin shut.
While I would love to see a diablo 3, it seems to me, that they'd need to come up with a whole new angle, otherwise the thing would likely suck the rotten salami

I've caught wind of D3........it seems they are taking it into extreme cosideration....
I'm sure there will be one, but no word of it save they start making concepts for it in September of this year.
Summary:
Sometime in September 2004 Bizzard will put the Diablo idea crew to work on finding a way, if any, to bring the franchise back.

That move is asking for a law suite.

hmmm well if nothing else they could always say that the destruction of the world stone cause the already reckless archangel tyrael to go mad, and he went into the abyss and brought that oversized crimson iguana out, or something...Okay I realize that's really grasping at straws, but I don't see as they have a whole lot of options.
A couple years ago, I heard msn came out with a computer rpg that was supposed to take place in the world of Sanctuary, just after D2 LOD. I never played it, and I can't remember what it was called. I read it in Game Informer magazine, cira 2001

they wont come out with D3 for another year.... they are first finishing world of Warcraft and Starcraft ghost, so that'll be a good year or 2

Even if they did. I bet they would try and put it in full 3D. Hence screwing up the game.

They could make Diablo 3 an MMORPG. Since the brothers fell, and the world was basically screwed, the storyline could be the people's struggle to finish off the last remaining demonic soldiers. They could also be trying to figure out how to keep the world from doom with the destruction of the world stone. Either way, if they did it at least decent, I'd still play it =D...

D2:LOD is kinda all ready MMO. Think about it. How many people play it online. As for the remaingin soldiers thing. Just becuase there the 3 prime evils dont mean there the hardest to defeat. Look at Lister the Tormenter. So it's an idea. Cominbe both of the ideas.

Lister the tormentor wasn't the hardest to beat. He was hard, but not that hard. It helps to have "cannot be frozen" of course, but Baal was the hardest. Unless of course you get the "world event" of course *evil grin* Then you run screaming...

I would like to see Diablo perhaps as a MMORPG.
Lastly, Forge, we would rather a thread being brought back to life then to see the same topic being made into hundreds of threads.

Well, I guess that makes sense but I thought the threads were deleted after a certaint time of inactivity.
And diablo is a mmorpg.

Diablo is not an MMORPG
MMORPGs have maybe 20 or so single persistant worlds with hundreds of people in them, not a billion burst games with a max of 4 or 8.
Please rethink your defenition.
On a side note: Sacred is pretty wicked.

..... hmmm I just go by what it stands for mass multiplayer online, roleplaying game. Then again some people don't consider it a rpg but I'm very vage (sp) on what I consider one. Unless my break-down of it is wrong.

Oh, there's a HUGE community, no way to deny that... However, the size of the community does not determine a game's Genre, that is determined by the game.
8 people running through a set path and a limited amount of zones is NOT, by ANY means, Massivley Multiplayer. MMORPGs have only 20 or so servers each running their own spawn of the game, all we do is access them. These games are massive, with hundreds of zones and each zone containing as little as 3 people or as much as 200 in them. And so, the servers themselves have as many as 5000 people playing on them at once.
One game of Diablo 2 has 8 players max and able to have their characters interact with eachother in that game.
One game of Final Fantasy XI has more than 5000 players on at once and have their characters interact with eachother in that game.
That is the difference between Diablo 2, an ORPG, and a game like EverQuest and Final Fantasy XI, an MMORPG.

If you read back at Diablo 1's story, you'll find out about 2 other people the game hasnt talked about or introduced...mabye they could be the next evil trying to rule the world.
