What does everyone think of the new Metroid game being 3d instead of 2d?

i think it will be ok. i wa never into metroid until about 2 months ago. GOTTA LOVE EMULATION!!! ^_^. any way i think if they can make it as fun ad it predicesors (Spelling) than it will be SWEET ASS HONEY!!

i just don't want to see metroid get screwed up like other games that were originally 2d and then got worse when they went 3d (i.e. castlevania for n64)

I get what your saying like Megaman 64 (boooooooooooo) but you need to rember this will be an FPS mostly.

Castlevania SOTN was 2d and it sold well so why wouldn't another 2d metroid do the same?

I may be wrong, but wasn't that Castlevania for the GBA? The thing is that when you have a powerful system like the Gamecube, you want to utilize its capabilities, and that means using 3D graphics. Now I suppose that the game could still be a side scrowler, but I feel a game like this needs to be done in a complete 3d enviroment.

I was referring to the one for playstation but i still say it should be 2d. i can think of plenty of games that are 3d and have good graphics yet the game still sucks.

Yes, but that dons't mean that it will suck. So far, the game looks awsome, and I have no reason to think it will suck.

Iv had enough of 2d for me bring on the 3d and it has been brought and this game is going to be more than just a blow off the knew wepaons and u can do so much whith your litle operating hand such as heat sesnor lock on and see through magnify glass and x ray vision not to mention inside the helmet when u locate any enemy u can actualy pull up data on him inside Samus's helmet ppl should give this game more credit

Dude, Come on. I know you and junk, but this is pathetic. You have not even played this game. Never. They only reason you ever heard about it is because I told you how much it rocks.

What do you mean it "need's more credit" Many people consider this one of the most wanted game's ever.

But Metroid looks great, but I don't know... The change from side scroller to 3d FPS could kill its rep... I mean look at all the games that were SOOO damn popular and then when they went 3d... K PLUT... they died.... I mean i don't know now... It looks awesome but we will just have to wait and see... You can't judge until you have actually played the game.... ^_^

True all games have its down sides but to me if they were gonna come out with a new starfox for the love of god they shouldev came out with the shooter 1st so it could make a big impact back on a new system then the adventure one

hey first of all i'm new so i was looking for a metroid thread and second have you guys heard of metroid fuzion for gba its gonna be just as good as all the other 2d metroid and now you climb on walls so don't worry about keeping metroid 2d atleast 1 3d game is good and this one looks like a good start

Metroid Fusion is on my like to get November 18 right along with a link cable and Prime.

They will conect in a major way, nintendo just wont tell us yet.

Any of yall read the story for fusion yet. It rocks. I wont post it, but in you want to know, I will pm it to you.

They come out November 18th.
