Anyone here into gurps and/or traveller? If so I'd like to get some discussion going with gurps and traveller players.

A mod said to post this here since there's no general PnP forum, BTW.

I used to be interested in this game. Theres all those different formats and time periods you can play the game with. Sadly, I never could find a rule book for the game. Just the damn Supplements. Not many people play Gurps either, though Im sure their number are more than those of Shadowrun.

Go to SJgames.com and look for gurps players in yoru area.

I own the game and it's been a great basis in my creation of my own game (working title: eSF-RPG). Since the rule system is pretty much transferable to anything it works rather well. I'm thinking about only using the character creation rules though. Since I don't like the battle rules very much.

I haven't played GURPS very much though. But I love reading the sourcebooks 8^)

Yeah. It's your standard space-opera thing with sound in space. Though from those first concepts it has developed quite a bit.

There are the standard Empire and the Rebels, both are more or less totalitarian Empires that hate each other. Earth was destroyed a long time ago (or the sun was destroyed and Earth with it) and the Empire blames everyone for it and therefore believes there can be no peace between aliens and humans.
The rebels think the empire did it to gain power and have allied themselves with one of the alien races. Apart from that there are a couple of other aliens. All will probably be unplayable since the differences between cultures is too big so that none can really understand each other.

There's a lot of the standard space-stuff in the setting. It is all made with a "There is no good or evil"-mentality to it. And is inspired a lot by Babylon 5 and Warhammer 40k.

I never get around really putting down the rules though. The world history is pretty much worked out and I even made a timeline back in the days. But progress on the whole is VERY slow. (I've been working on it for some years already)
