I'm playing a paladin and have reached 8th level. When I was on the 7th level I called for a pegasus as my special mount. My question is does the pegasus level up and gain more HP as a regular character does? If it does when does it level up?

Are you playing a 3.0 or a 3.5 paladin?
The mount does not level up as the character does. It does gain HD, but at a different progression rate than the paladin does.
It's really all right in the book. =)

I'm playing a 3.0 paladin.
Can you tell me where in the book cuz I don't seem to find it...
Thanks for answering.

All the info should be right in the Paladin Class description. Unless I'm remembering incorrectly (which I might be), there was at least half a page devoted to the paladin's mount and all the specifics about it.

Yea I know about that page but I can't make out how it gains HD.
I'm very new at this...
You would need the MM as well, to know the rules for advancing a creature other than a player character.
In any case, the increments are separated by two-level intervals. He gets a few bonuses the moment you select it as your munt (a couple extra HD, +1 to STR I believe, more int, a couple more), and then every two levels it gets more. For a normal warhorse its at 5, 7, 9, etc. The pegasus, being a special mount you get at 7th level, won't gain any advantages again until level 9.
