I know quite a lot about D&D. There are currently 3 different rule systems for playing the game. D&D, D&D 2ed., and D&D 3ed. Core. To try to teach someone or several someones how to play it here would be close to impossible. It is a very complex, and involved gaming system. There are several books that are used to play the game. The best way to learn is to buy a Player's Handbook and read it. You can chose what ever version you want. I would start with the 3ed as the dice rolling is simplified. Then try to get into a game. The best way to learn is to get into a game with others that are experienced, and play.

If there are no stores that sell D&D stuff where you guys live I would recomend going to www.wizards,com There you can order books and sometimes they have Package deals!! But yeah the best Place to start is with a Players Handbook and a set of multisided Dice (You can get these off E-Bay at good prices)

We are trying to help brainiac. If you can't read I'm not surprised that you don't like forums. I broke it down as simpily as I could, if you still have questions ask, don't bash!

*ignoring the flaming going on*
I propose that we start a section dedicated to newbies. I figure that Wizard released the d20 system, that we can teach the majority of the rules w/out copyright infringement (I doubt anyone 'cept Wizard really cares about the copyrights, but no harm in being cautious), and short of typing out the Player's Handbook, I'm sure everybody would be glad to answer any good questions.
BTW, for those of you who don't know me (I've been out quite a while) I'm pretty easy to get along with, I have quite an extensive knowledge of RP and RPG's (feel free to ask me anything), and I have a very low tollerance for idiocy. Whether or not you choose to like me is entirely your own choice... but I try to be amiable.
