hey guys, guess what? Im project lead for Vendetta Studios, and we are in negotiations with the current license owner of FASA's ShadowRun game...and are in development of the game as I write this, most likely to use the Unreal Tournament 2003 or the Serious Sam 2 engine. Models (3D Studio Max), textures (.pcx is best) and concept art are needed...if anyone that reads this knows how to code Unreal script or Serious script, 3D Studio Max, Unreal Editor (UED), photoshop (for texutres) then contact me at team@vendettastudios.com or zendiesel@vendettastudios.com ... otherwise keep informed on where our project is going at www.vendettastudios.com (site still under construction). We are a group of gamers that made the mod StrikeForce for Unreal Tournament, and we are all die-hard Shadowrun fans that have been envisioning the new SR game since the Sega Genesis version (which is the best RPG IMO that i have ever seen/played). Ok, enough for now, I hope ppl still read this board!

Woo! If there's any weight at all to this claim, you got my endorsement. Ever since I found out about the RPG, I've killed to see a game that can put me into the world of Shadowrun completely and thoroughly. Again, if the claims are valid and you're telling the truth, more power to ya! Unfortunatly, I have absolutly no skill whatsoever in scripting any sort of game. My request? Again, if this claim is even valid (can't be too careful) Make sure to be faithful to the Shadowrun world! I want to see the Ares Predator, I want to see the Smartgun link! I want to see an in game representaition of Wired Reflexes...! I want... I want way too much, I'm sure.
Anyway, all I can provide I'm afraid is a fan's opinion. But again, if I honestly hope it's the truth, because, It's SR, of course! Good luck man...

Good to hear, good to hear. The sight looks pretty legit, so I'll buy into it for now. Heh, fair warning, if you post, I'll probably reply, just because I have an interest in the thing, and I have an opinion on just about anything I'm involved in. I'll keep up on what's happening on the game through the site now and than. Out of curiousity, is it going to be an RPG, or more of an FPS maybe? Third person? If it's FPS (It'd work, quite well, I'm guessing) Will it incorporate RPG elements? In short, are we talking like a Deus EX style game... Maybe more Unreal style... Or complete RPG based?

I happen to have that same question when I saw this thread. While I'm no programming genious I play often enough (both electronic and tabletop) to know that Shadowrun is one of most unique and therefor diffecult games to emulate inside electronic standards.
Take the old SNES tittle for example. Great detail, true lingo and stylization to SR but it was (if you could call it this) too RPG. In Shadowrun you have guns, lots and lots of guns. Some of more important problems with guns are jamming, reloading, aiming, etc. The same problem with unrealistic game mechanics also reared its ugly head with Magic in the SNES game. Most of the Mages shot at you rather than casting spells. There was a dynamic about gameplay that was lost. Sure it looked pretty for its time, and the story was immersive. But the entire thing ran more like it's own game than a true SR dice mechanics driven one.
In this fans personal opinion I think a degree of third person and classic RPG elements need to be incorperated to fulfill the mechanical obligations. Then again Vendetta, you guys are the experts on all this computer whiz. I just write stories and GM once in a while.
All in all, I want to see Corperate Mages fly around the Ares building, I TOTALLY want an immersive Matrix, and above all realistic combat. If that Ruger Super Warhawk's smartlink II doesn't short out w/o proper care I'm going to be very dissapointed
Well enough from me and my soap box, I'll step down now and let my ego calm down, haha. I've checked out the site btw . . . cluttered but I like the color, keep up the good work.

First off i would like to say I could not be more enthusiastic about a Shadowrun game but with all due respect, do you think FPS is the best medium for a pen and paper rpg? I'm curious how you would hande deckers, riggers, magic-users, adepts, etc. At any rate i am eager to see Shadowrun returning to the video game world. Best of luck
