.;The darkness edged in against her unrelentlessly. She heard his voice ring out, like a an echo encased in a styro-foam coffin. She clawed at her arms for a moment, feeling the urge to rip out her veins, but ceased, pondering that the pain that burned through them was merely life itself. If that was life, was this death?;.
.;Daddy...? An apparition, it must be...He stood in the middle of the room, hands clasped behind his back and his face void of emotion. He pointed to the man who fled from the coffee house, the man she'd found in the bathroom. What? She felt the urge to run to him, but couldn't, as if her feet were shackled to the floor in leaden invisibilty. She cried out, coming out as a strangled whine...But it was loud enough to shake the darkness from her...;.
.;People stared at her, crumpled to the floor, face contorted in pain. She glanced at them, as she jumped up and bolted out the door. She brushed violently past the man from the men's room, eyes ablaze and hair billowing as she traveled down the street at a near sprint.;.

I stopped violently in my tracks slightly tripping, I turned around, "Look. I am sorry right now isn't the time, I dont feel well..." And then I started to walk in the direction again, when I looked back and saw yet another figure coming in this direction, so I stopped and walked back, "Now I just dont want you following me, It could be quite dangerous, you hear, something weird is happening, and I will find out what is going on without getting you involved, okay? So pass the message to the that one girl coming this way, bye Ann." And I turned around and continued home.

Annie started to walk but stopped suddenly, reaching out with her hand. "Wait," she said feebly. She was already involved. It couldn't be helped. Though, she didn't know what it was that she was involved in. She turned around slowly to wait for the other girl. She seemed to be involved in this too. Annie met the girl's gaze, and as she passed she stopped her.

"Wait," she said hurridly. "Don't keep going." She thought about what Dan had said for a moment. He seemed serious enough. As much as she wanted to help she knew there was nothing to be done at the moment. "Don't... follow him." She paused again. "He needs his space." Another pause. "He said soemthing about danger. Don't... get involved." Annie spoke as if entranced. She couldn't shake the feeling that they were all connected. She needed to help, but she couldn't. He didn't want her to.

.;She shook violently at her talk, and balked, glaring with the fire of a hermit who was disturbed from his slumber in her eyes. She stared at her for a moment, glancing around, looking for this mysterious "him" she spoke of. She sighed, rolling her eyes and stepped away, almost forgetting to answer her. She stopped suddenly, and hissed an answer in affray.;.
"Don't touch me! I wasn't following anyone. I don't care about whatever's going on between you...I don't know you, and I'm not involved in your little conspiracy..."
.;All of which was spoken extremely fast, as if she was denying what she thought and knew was true. Somehow, she felt it so, they were connected, as if by poisioned spider's thread. But she would NOT be spun into it all, the web that was accumilating around them would not involve, she reassured herself. But she felt it, deep down, that they were connected and could do nothing about it. Was her life nothing but a swirling mass of excrement???!;.

I finally reached the apartment tired, my hands were shaking and I was frezzeing, the weather was extremmly cold and the moistre was just in the air. I thought to my self, "did it rain?" I dont think it did, it just seemed unusual. I walked to my door upstairs, and when I opened it, I had to open it hard. Everywhere was out of place when I went inside, I didnt know what to think, other than the fact that the place I lived is all messed up. With out a bother I closed the door and went in the bathroom where I find my sink. I soak my face with water using my hands.

I was getting much more tired, I went straight for my bedroom and my door was shut, my door was never shut. I tried to open it, and it just wouldnt, it was like it was locked. I heard a knock at my front door all of a sudden, walking up to the door I grasp the handle and poen it, it was the warden, she looked very unhappy, "well what do you want?"
"What do you mean what do I want, you know what I want, I want you outta here!," she replied with a furious tone.
"Why?"
"One look at this place, it's a complete mess, and two, you havent been paying your god damn rent!"
I Shut the door on her and locked it, I could hear her say all these threats, but right now it didnt matter to me. She finally left after leaving a nice message at the door, "I am calling the police, and that's final!"
I didnt care at the moment because I couldnt realize the truth from the lies, I went back to my bedroom, door still locked.
"Hmmm... why the hell is this door locked?" I came to some senses and broke my door down, kick after kick, and it broke, I unlocked the door from the inside and pushed it open. On my bed was a bloody body split open. "What the hell?"
I rushed to the phone and I called ann, I left a message, "Listen, we need to talk, this is definatly weird, and the police are coming after me. Hurry please!"

I sat down outside the room and finally I dozed off...

Annie stood there, just staring. She didn't know what to do or say. It was way too much rejection for her in one day. Slowly she picked up one foot and began to walk home.

What should've been minutes seemed like hours. Nothing seemed quite right. There weren't many people walking that day. The ones that were just sneered as they passed. She found herself becoming heavy, as if tired. Maybe she was. That's all she needed, a nap... She closed her eyes, but opened them with a jolt. "Better not fall asleep here," Annie mumbled.

Finally she reached her apartment. Going up the stairs seemed to take longer than the walk home. She was having trouble, breathing hard. It was only one flight. She fumbled for her key in her purse and unlocked the door. She walked in, taking a lot of effort to open the door.

Annie felt she was falling into her depression again. She checked her messages, pushing the small flashing button hesitantly. It wouldn't go at first, but she eventually go it to. She jumped when she heard Daniels voice.

At the end of the message Annie bolted out the door, regaining her lost enery. She didn't even try to call him back, just ran. The running seemed to take the longer than when she was walking up the stairs. Each second seeming like an hour. She kept trying to get to her destination but it seemed to be moving away from her. She halted at her stop. The police were coming she could see the lights flashing down the street. Annie ran up the stairs to Dan's apartment and turned the handle. It was open so she ran in.

Annie looked around. There he is, she thought. He was sleeping. "Daniel! Dan! Wake up." She sounded rushed. "We can talk later. The police are here!"

I was till there sleepy, I couldnt help it, I heard her words and replied slowly, "It's too late, they are coming up. We have no where else to go. Other than the fire escape. But I am too tired..." And My head hit the floor hard and loud. I was unconscious, I didnt dream nor think, just could barley hear the voices even when I couldnt understand what they were saying.

.;Judith moved to the rythm of the music that pounded against her, echoing in her lungs, ears, and brain. Vibrations hugged her lungs, tickling them viciously. She grinned, moving the glow sticks, that seemed to be captured in an earth shattering lethargy. It stretched along in her vision, as if warped in a black whole. Fun time to be at a rave, it was! Of course, everything, at the moment, was fun. But she was incredibly thirsty.;.
.;Deciding she deserved a water break, she broke away from Mikel, her dealer and esteemed friend, mouthing water. At the counter, she stumbled on her words, transfixed by the flourescant glare of the lights above the counter. When her thirst reminded her angrily of her purpose, she obliged, and purchased her Evian. She upturned the bottle, and nearly drank all in 30 seconds. She left a little for later. She just wanted to dance..have fun! Forget it all. Forget she existed here, and the purpose that nagged her to return to the coffee house...and search out the strange people she'd conversed with earlier.;.
.;But it didn't matter. As long as the Pigs didn't come, she'd be fine, they'd all be fine. 'Just go back to your routine, Judith. Divert your eyes from the picture. Abstract lines and contorting shapes outline your life', she thought angrily. But she didn't...She left just in time to hear the Cops pull up, their lights a tenebrous beacon of fallacy. 'To Protect and To Serve...In Hell,' she finished their motto, dashing down a dark Alley way.;.

Annie looked at Daniel frantically as he fell back to sleep, but, suddenly, her own eyelids felt heavy again. She heard the police knock at the door and yell at them. It all seemed so far away. None of it was urgent. She tried to pull Dan up, but instead fell on top of him. She felt she was asleep, but not really. Annie wondered when the police would just break down the door. Maybe they already had. She wasn't sure.

When Ann fell on me I woke up. My head was in pain, and I was still tired. The pounding at the door and the kicking was so loud, I couldnt bear to hear it. I pushed Ann off me while my wore out body stood up, I tired getting energy that I did not have with me. I picked up Ann and put her on my back as I headed back through my room where the dead body was to get to the fire escape. There was no one on this side of the apartment, this was going to be dangerous. I didn't know how to bring her down with me without dropping her or falling.Perhaps the fresh cold air would bring her to her senses, I tried to wake her up.

.;The cops passed the rave, screeching to a halt just a few houses down. 'Bust?' she thought, darting in between houses, bars, and stores the like, heading towards the scene. She made from the back way, peeking around the corner to see a police man, clad in his orderly black uniform, speed into the door way, following others. She shook her head. Poor unlucky bastard...;.
.;She jumped, hearing a clatter above and behind her, A fire escape. 'The Weirdos!' She thought, looking up...and hearing the police screaming at them. They were fleeing. Oh, this was genuine fun! She wrenched down the ladder, pulling it to meet the ground, climbing half way up.;.
.;Seeming like a pompous brat looking for an adventure, she called up to him, "Toss her here. I'll help you out of this!" She'd fled the cops many a time, caught only once and bailed out immediately. Only drug charges, though...nothing a little money couldn't straighten out in the Judicial system. Now, a murder...that would be different. Vaguely, she wondered why he would be carrying an unconcious girl down a fire escape, and running from the cops...but it didn't matter. Fun, adrenaline, adventure. Those mattered. It was all a game!;.

I looked at her, "Okay! Well be careful with her!" And then I grabbed Ann and eased her down toward the girl. "Dont drop her! Hurry it up okay!" My hands started slipping easily, and then it began to rain.

"oi you!" Vivane had smashed through the apartment door and was watching Daniel dangling Ann over the edge outside.
"Pull her back up now!" Vivane moved closer and got out his USP Pistol and pointed it at the slim Daniel. Daniel had fear in his eyes which Vivane could feel in his heart. This was no ordinary escape, there was a good reason for it but he didn't know what.
"I can help you! Pull her up, I can help you!" he gave Daniel a choice.

.;She caught her legs that dangled in a feeble, gravity-prone motioned, feeling the rain slicken her skin. But she grinned in response to the fat droplets that were hurtling downwards onto them like hailstones. Just another challenge. She heard them batter the door down, and gave Ann a tug. She slid into her grasp easily, and she hopped back off the escape.;. "Don't listen to him, Man! I got her; Let's go! Anyone with the government shouldn't be trusted!"
.;She hoped the rain would wake Ann, as it was a cold, numbing rain...But she still was worried for the Wacko up there... If he got caught, she'd just have to bail him out...or just sick Mikel's cronies on him... His gang wasn't nice...but they admired her, so she could get them to do whatever she asked, with only a batting of her pretty lashes.;. (Sorry it's short; brother's being a prick.))

Ann felt herself being picked up, but fell back into her trance. When she woke up again she was moving and there were cold drops of water spattering on her face. She saw Daniel but she was in someone elses grip. She looked up slowly. It was the mysterious girl from earlier. "What's happening?" she asked, voice raspy. Annie was very thirsty and something was burning her throat. She felt strength return. Suddenly, she remembered what had happened and looked up at Daniel agian. There was a cop too. "No... Someone needs to go help Dan. Put me down." She was a little more demanding than she wanted to be, but someone needed to help him. But how?

Vivane saw Ann being dropped down into the rain. Who was she being passed to?
"Hey, where's the girl gone?" he shouted at Daniel. He moved closer to Daniel, still pointing his USP at him. As he edged slowly closer to the fire escape where Dan was standing in the rain, he noticed a dead body on the floor, covered in blood. He quickly looked back at Daniel and shouted,
"Who, is that Daniel? Who did you kill? Let me help you here, I wont let you get hurt!"

.;She let her go, hopping off the escape, and angrily yelling up "THEY ALL SAY THAT!" She turned, ecstatic to see Mikel's gang accumilating around the entrance of the alley. She saw him in the lead, the respect for him was the closest thing she'd ever felt to love, with a man anyway. His short hair, shaved a week or so ago was a bright grey, and he had brilliant blue eyes...Blue eyes of someone who shouldn't be in this sort of mess... But thank god he was. He had the stature of someone who should've been a king, in the day of Merlin. Poor thing, shorted of his duty. She thought he was the king of organized street violence...if that was any consolation.;. "The apartment, Mikel, I'll explain later..."
.;The police had attracted them...like moths. But, now that they saw she was involved, they hastily made their way upstairs, brandishing weapons. "Don't kill anyone, Guys! Or, at least until I say!" He shouted after them, following them with billowing confidence, and tossed a glance back at her, taking care to keep his eyes moving. He tried to pretend like he didn't care for her, she knew. "Base, Cervila." She nodded quickly, and looked to Ann.;.
"Look, you probably just think I'm a madwoman, but I'm your last hope's...Um...So, let's go..They'll get him, and then bring him to the head quarters...Come on." .;She allowed her choice, but looked austere, persuasive.;.

Annie took one last look at Daniel up on the fire escape. She knew he'd be okay, but wanted to make sure. She didn't know this woman or the people she seemed to be with and didn't want to risk Dan's life. A couple seconds later she decided to follow the mysterious girl. It could be dangerous, but the girl seemed trustworthy. She hoped everything would be ok, and followed her, staying very close.

I looked at Vivane, I put one foot behind me and glared at him when he came closer. My mouth slid into a grin and the rain and thunder had gotten louder, I heard the sounds of the thunderbolts crashing into the ground. "If you wanna help you will have to follow me!" My energy decreasing, I could feel something different, I knew that this wouldnt be the end of me if I do it, and I did... "Come if you're brave enough, if not I insist for you to stay back..." I looked at him wondering if I should do it, that is... jump. Eager to let go I ran for the edge and jumped off.All of a sudden everything was almost not moving, everything was slow.

.;She heard Mikel's men slamming through doors, making it directly into the other Weirdo's apartment. She'd taken 'Weirdo' as a name for them both, but more likely to be used for the guy. She didn't know either of them, which made her question why she was risking Mikel's gang and their agreement with this wretched town's dirty cops. But they'd do fine. They were a tough organization, that was true. More of a syndicate, rather than a gang. Gang's weren't really 'organized' crime. More like reckless disarray, ruling the melee with a spray of bullets and a mascot. Mikel had disgusted choosing a name for them. That would make it seem so immature, he said, like Cowboys and Indians. She suggested they could be the Desperados, but that just pissed him off. He wasn't that type of guy.;.
.;She sprinted down the alley, stopping only to peer out. Good. Cops were all preoccupied with the massive jumble of attackers that had bombarded them. She turned the corner, still racing down the street, not even watching for the bums and crackheads that littered the sidewalks. They knew her. She was 'Mikel's girl', or so they thought. Friends, she stressed. It never caught on, despite her efforts. They moved aside, probably because of the fierce expression on her face.;.

She nearly slammed into the silver Lexus, digging into the pocket of her too large jeans (they opened around her leg in what seemed like a canyon. Typical goth pants.) 'Keys!' she hissed, finding them finally. She hopped in and unlocked the doors, before firing it to a start.;.

I continued falling, slowly, the floor gaining upon me, tears flew from my eyes as I watched every drop fly into the air chasing me, my body started to turn, and suddenly everything stopped, it was over, the falling was done, I smacked into the ground face first and my body became lifeless, and everything faded away. I was blind once again, I didnt know what happened, I was away from my body and trapped somewhere else, nothing now seemed right, everything became shrouded, and I confused, losing touch with once was my reality, and it was just wiped away. I felt cold, I was in a dark room, chained up, I could hear the voices outside, the sounds everything, but I was hung on a wall, by chains that seemed unbreakable. I was losing myself, yet I have breeched an alternate reality, I just didn't know which.
Water dripped from my body, there was no ground or any other walls, I look to the bottom and I see darkness, just as every where else, was this true death?

Just as Annie is about to hop in the car, she hears a loud thump, and stops dead in her tracks. Something about it wasn't right. She quickly spun around on her heals and ran back down the alley. She was breathing heavy and could feel the sweat drop steadily down her face.

Ann stoped dead, frozen. It was Daniel. He was lying on the ground, motionless. Getting ove the shock, she quickly dropped to her knees by his side. "Daniel, Daniel." She tried pushing him a little. It didn't work. "Dan, talk to me! Say something!" Still nothing. She didn't know what to do.

I heard Ann's voice and seen slight visions of her. "No! No! dont tovh me, I dont want you dragged into this go!" It didnt work they couldnt hear me, I was dead, but I started to feel something suddenly, on the wall I was hanging the chains broke and I fell into darkness, falling and falling. Then blackout everything was gone, no noises, voices, yet there was a light shining at the end, I tried to reach it, and I smacked into the bottom of darkness... cold... motionless. Yet when my eyes opened, i was in a hospital. I still dont know if I am in reality.

These people were like canaries that never ceased their movement, and she wanted to grasp their fluttering wings and tear them apart. What the hell was their problem...Or, Problems. But that wasn't the matter at this moment. The fool had jumped.;.
.;Blood was pooling around him in a grotesque halo, Ann was falling to her knees aside him. Apparently, the police had succumbed to the wrath of the syndicate...and Mikel stood at the alleyway. I guess he assumed Judith cared about this man...this dead man. Judith was mored worried about Ann. She bent over, her dark hair spilling over her shoulders, touching her shoulder lightly.;.
"He's dead..." .;She winced, feeling that same black hole...that vacuum that stole her soul, her vitality, her awareness. Ann. Her name, she knew it now. Ann must have been spiralling down the same descent she was. She felt her phsyical body collapse, fall to the ground. Shudder. She heard Mikel calling to her, but she was gone, her life sucked away as if by some vampiric hand of doom.;.
