WAR OF THE MAGI

4000 years ago, the War of the Magi decimated most of the world's technology and most known magic. The only magic’s that remain are the pure magic’s: Fire, Air, Water, Earth, Dark and Light. Today the world as we know it has changed dramatically. The reigning Empires remain at war with each other, causing unrest among the masses. Nonetheless, the world is striving successfully to rebuild itself from the perils of War.

However, the Demon Empire has grown curious and power-hungry for the ancient power known only as the “Obentration stone“. Their leader craves this power, and will destroy anything that comes in his way. With the finding of an ancient Oben vial, a seemingly vital source of information on the location the stone, the Demon Empire is poised to take full control of this mysterious power. Several warriors, from all walks of life, must band together despite their differences in order to save the world from one who would conquer it.

No one knows exactly what the stone is capable of doing but it is rumored to be the only thing that can stop or help the Demon Leader in his conquest of the world. The location of the stone is with held in vials of Oben, a element that alone is extremely powerful. Each vial is guarded by Magi, beings that have transcended humanity and become beacons of pure energy and light/dark. In all there are 5 vials. 4 remain in the world, but their locations are unknown to anyone except the ones that hold them.

Each of the 6 kingdoms of the world control their own element. Demons: Dark, Angels: Light, Humans: Fire, Elves: water, Dwarves: Earth, Gargoyles: Air. Most in these kingdoms are content with just using their own magic…except the demon kingdom. They seem to be the only ones that are bent on ruling over all the elemental magic.

THE WORLD AS IT IS NOW

HIGH REALM: This realm is where the angels reside, it is a very beautiful land, of lushes fertile land good for growing food and nutrients. This land rises high above the other suspended by an unseen force. The angels can come and go from this realm, but if another race was to try and make their way to the high realms…they would die from the lack of air. The angels use their powers over light to give the beings in the lower realms warmth and life giving sun light as the high realms itself block most of the natural light.

MID REALMS: This is where most of the other races live. Each race as their own region, more like a large suspended island in the air. The Humans live on the region known as Pyan. This region is a land with parched land, and harsh conditions not suitable for the growing of food. Most Humans are either traders, mercenaries, or thieves very few know the ways of their own fire magic. The Elves live in a region known as Chelsta. A beautiful area with much water and fertile land perfect for harvesting vegetation. Most Elves trade with the humans, or are farmers growing food. A few live in the temples learning the ways of water magic. Dwarves live in the region called Abrake. This area is stony and not very good for growing many crops, however there are many caves that contain vital minerals and precious gems. Dwarves tend to be shop owners, or miners. Only the noblest of Dwarves are sent to the temples to learn earth magic. The Gargoyle race live in the region called Airna. Most of this region consists of trees that block all sunlight from reaching the ground, which is fine with the Gargoyles seeing as they have built massive cities in the trees themselves. The tree not only provide the gargoyle race with protection from invaders it also provides them with food. Since their race has ample food and no need for much of anything else most Gargoyles are sent to the temples at a young age to learn Air magic.

LOWER REALM: This is the realm where the demons reside. This realm is void of most light, natural or angel made. The demons have been able to adapted to the conditions of their realm and are able to grow a strange array of food in their realm. Most Demons serve in the army of their leader, who is bent on ruling the other realms. All demons are required to learn the ways of their dark shadow magic.

RACES:

ANGELS: These beings are of great importance to most of the other races (except demons) They provide the light that allows the other races to live. They are taught from a young age to generate orbs of light using their own life force. The orbs of light have many purposes, both offensively and defensively. They are also used to give life supporting light to the realms below. The angels themselves are highly social and will from time to time visit the mid realm. However they very rarely descend to the lower realm to visit the demons. The angels think of themselves as the greatest being in the world and tend to have a very big ego problem. The see themselves as superiors to all creatures since they provide the light to the lower realms for their well being. Despite this though the angels are outgoing and will not hesitate to start up a conversation.

HUMANS: The humans are a cold hearted bunch, most of them are mercenaries or thieves, just doing what they can to get by. Very few are mages and use the fire magic. But the few that are allowed to learn it are the most powerful in the kingdom, The king, queen, their children, and most of the royal court know fire magic. They use this skill mainly heating their homes and defending themselves against invaders. Humans see themselves as equals to the other raves, but most other races do not agree with them.

ELVES: The elves are lively and will jump into a conversation at the drop of a hat. They love a good talk and gossip. They are the first the angels come to see when they visit. Elves use of their water magic helps most of the other races survive, since it makes the elves able to harvest and grow food. The elves view most of the other mid realm races as inferior to them, because the elves believe they hold the lives of the other races in their hands, well except the angels. The elven kingdom does not go around looking for conflict but they will not hesitate to fight back.

DWARVES: Dwarves are short, stout and strong, they spend their days mining for gold and other materials in the mines that surrounds their cities. If one was to ask a dwarf his view on the other races they would simply shrug their shoulders and go on about their business. Dwarves live the politics with the other races up to their royal family, who most dwarves see as very respected and powerful. Only the noble families are allowed to use the earth magic because to be honest most dwarves would rather use brute strength to do their daily work.

GARGOYLES: If the elves thing they are the superiors beings in the mid realms…they are wrong. The Gargoyles are, for the Gargoyle kingdom is the only kingdom that is self sustained, meaning they have no need for any other races help. They tend to lead normal lives and not bother with the other races. Their views on the other races is that they do not care what happens to them, their race can care for itself. Most Gargoyles know how to use air magic, even if it is just the very basics.

DEMONS: If the angels are the most important beings in the world…the demons are the least important. The demons live on the lowest realm of the world, away from the eyes of the rest. The demon kingdom is very close and will protect themselves even if barely provoked. Most demons want nothing more than the destruction of the other races and will stop it nothing to achieve that goal. From the time demons are born they are trained in the art of dark magic. Doing so they achieve a high mastery rate by the time they are able to join the army of the Demon King.

MAGI: Not much is known about these powerful beings, except that they guard the vials of Oben which contain the location of the Obentration Stone. They have moved past the plane of existence and live as beings of pure and powerful energy, they come and go as they please and do not meddle in the affairs of the other races (even the angels and demons).

Magic: for each of his swords that he uses he knows magic as well, but only when he is holding the corresponding sword. I will go into more detail about his magic when the time calls for me to. (too much to type…sorry).
PERSONALITY: Neouz is a smart man that is not easily angered. His views on the other races are he does not really care what they do. He doesn’t mind if they help him, or if they do not. He know that they will most likely help him in the end but until that time comes he will wage his own war. He is sometimes seen as very cold and stand offish, not letting anyone else tell him what to do. He does not let many get close to him, he chooses his closest friends and only they are allowed around him at anytime they please.

BIO: Neouz was born to powerful Magi. Growing up as a boy he had everything he could want. When he was just a few years old the now leader of the Demon race killed his parents and had them burned. But Neouz never knew this, he was told that they were killed in an attack from the angels. Enraged with the angels he set out to destroy them all.
Yet as he stormed the gates to the high realms mowing down anything and everything in his path he soon realized, that they were not the evil beings he had thought. He ceased his attack and begged for forgiveness. Upon his return to the Magi temple he was punished for his actions and cast out of hi home. He wandered the land searching for anything that would take him in. He soon found that most of the races would not harbor him, however they were willing to teach him their magi…seeing his race was the creators of all known magic.
He soon mastered 5 of the 6 magic’s…all except that of the Elves, who think of themselves as the highest beings in the world. As he returned to his home land he discovered that his race had all transcended and become higher beacons of energy. He chose to stay behind in his human form and protect those who he could, for his choice he was banished by his race and forbidden to ever enter his home lands again, for fear of death.

WEAPONS Yumi (Bow) and a one meter Long Staff.
MAGIC: Leobane has the ability to use Shadow Bending to his advantage. He can move along a non-illuminated path quickly, a power called Sneaky Shadows. While he does become invisible in the darkness, a bright area such as were there is sunlight or maybe just a bright candlelight he becomes visible. Shadow Clone lets Leobane craft a duplicate of himself by bending his own shadow. The Shadow Clone cannot become invisible and is limited to one Shadow Clone at a time. The clone runs much faster then Leobane, especially if he is in a dark spot. The clone becomes weaker and weaker the longer it stays in the light. The more a Shadow Clone is active the more fatigued Leobane becomes. Shadow Drain makes it much brighter in the 50 yard radius, making it more difficult to use his shadow abilities while becoming physically more powerful. Bite of the Shadow lets darkness spread to a thirty foot radius, to the point were no light may enter. Sneaky Shadows can be used while Bite of the Shadow is active, however the power Shadow Clone cannot.
PERSONALITY: Leobane is a nice guy overall even though he can be rude at times. He likes a good fight but doesn’t like to get into them and so tries to avoid them whenever possible. Even though Leobane is a demon he does fight for the Mid Realm.

BIO: Leobane has been known for many assassinations against the High and Mid Realms, most commonly being government officials or people and or creatures of importance. After so many deaths by his hands against countless innocents he began to find the error of his ways. Leo began a new life as a traitor of the Lower Realm and so fought with the Mid Realms. He had to pass many trials in order to become a Knight of the Mid Realm, and quickly gained ranks in combat after five years. He is now a Two Star General loyal to the king of the mid realms.

Bio:Tika was born to a elf princess named Laurana. Laurana fearing for her unborn child's life, left her home in the Chelsta and went to the realm of Pyan to have her child on the outer part. There she kept her and her child Tika will hidden in the dark forest area of Pyan growing what food she could by using magic and hunting.Laurana taught her daughter many things like how to heal with magic and do elf magic,to grow food with magic,to make a good bow and arrows and how to make poison arrows out of poison toads and diferent types of snakes and spiders.And the greatest thing she taught her daghter was the knowledge of almost all things and races .An how no races was better then the other no matter what they thought. Then one day when Tika had turned nine her mother had went happen just to never to return to her daughter again.Tika had always wonder what had happen to her mother but she was always to unsure and frighten to adventure out and find the answers she seeked.So she lived many years completly alone except for her animale friends and a kender named Tasslehuff that she had saved when she was at the tender age 0f 12 , and who had became like a brother to her and who had repayed her many times over for her healing him. But now Tika was becoming very restless , so she decides to adventure out and find answers to her mothers disappearance and to who her father was.All she Knew about him was he was an angel and that was it. And she wanted to know more about him for all children should know who fathered them. As she begins to pack her pack with what she would need she wonders if her father had anything to do with her mothers disappearance .Shaking her long dark violet red head she shoves the rest of her belongings into her pack writes Tasslehuff a letter and grabs her bow and arrows and heads out of the only home she had ever known. As she walks sadly away from her only home she weaves a spell around herself hidding her true race , knowing most races wouldn't take to her very will at all ,they might even try to kill her if they new of her half blood .So the spell made her look and seem completly human.
Which was fine with her, as far as Tika new she was the only half breed of her kind in any realm.Which made what she was very unsafe as she heads down the path she begins to feel bad about just leaving Tass with out a proper good bye.But what she had to do she must do alone no need to in danger some one she loved as a brother.

As Tika walks the deep forest path towards the main road she begins to wonder was this the same path that her mother had walked the day her mother Laurana had disappeared. She let's her dark green eyes wonder the deep forest as her thoughts go to her mother and she begins to wonder why she didn't ever come back. Did something really bad happen to her or did her mother just decide to return to Chelsta to the elves realm where since she was the princess she would of be welcome with open arms espeacially since she didn't have her half breed daughter in tow with her.But the more Tika thought of her mom just leaving and returning back to her kind ,the more Tika knew that it wouldn't have happen because her mother very much dislike her kind .She grabs some dry bread and goatcheese out of her pack and begins to nibble on it as she continues down the path towards the road knowing she probably wouldn't make the main road until sometime the next morning and that she would have to make camp sometime later today.Keeping all this in mind she continues down the long path .

Tika walked quietly for long time then begin singing songs here mother had taught her to keep the loneliness and sadness from eating at her soul.As the sky begin to turn a light purple and pink ,Tika stopped and begin to look for a good place to pitch camp for the night.Finding one in a circle of pine tree's a little ways away from the path she begins to make a fire . Looking around making sure there was nothing about she turns to where she had layed the logs and says fire in elf as she does the logs became in flame .Tika then goes to where the flames lick the logs and lays down her bedding. She then lays herself upon it and stares into the fire as the evening fades into darkness...

It was late when Neouz finally decide to turn in for the night. He pulled the door to the small shack that he lived in, in the middle of a clearing in the woods, open gently and stepped in. Darkness surrounded his body before he waved his right hand a wave of fire coming from his fingertips and lighting the candle spread out around the room. He nodded in satisfaction to the light before moving on. His head turned slowly his silvery hair shifting about his face and falling into his eyes as he moved. Walking towards his bedroom he slowly removed his cloak and tossed it to the side of his room, the article of clothing landing gently on a rack and hanging there. As he laid his body onto his bed his eyes closed instantly and he was fast asleep his body recovering from the training he had done during the day.

The next morning Neouz awoke to the sound of something in his home. Growling softly he sat bolt upright and slide off his bed slowly his bare feet padding on the floor as they landed on it. Standing slowly he slide silently towards the door and cracked it open so that he could peer out into the main room of his home. His eyes narrowed to slits as he saw a cloaked being sitting in his home appearing like it was looking for something. Stepping from the room Neo Amon made his way to the being silently and stepped up behind it his body shimmering with his own magic aura as he spoke to the being softly.

“Is there something I can help you find? Or shall I escort you from my home now?”

The being turned swiftly and in a flash had vanished leaving Neouz in his home alone once again. He growled and shook his head slowly before he turned and walked from the cabin and out into the woods to check around. As he walked he breathed in slowly trying to get the scent of whatever it was that was in his home. Not sensing anything he shook his head again and muttered to himself.

“Angels and there abilities…I will never understand their kind…”

Slowly he made his way back to his home and closed the door before sitting himself onto a chair and leaning back curious if he would have anymore visitors during the duration of the day.

Sometime later Tika was awaken by a noise in the woods she set up and rubbed her eyes .She strains her elven ears into the night when she hears it again this time closer.Sucking in a large gulp of morning air she quickly grabs here things and her weapons and runs behind a large bush an crouches then waits and see what well come out into the clearing. What comes out are four creatures Tika had never seen ,they were larger then humans and two had black like angel wings and the other two bat. As She watches them walk around her campsite and talk among themselves ,she gets up from her crouch but stays low as she makes her way further into these god forsaken woods all of the sudden she snaps a twig she can hear the creatures give a war cry as she hears them crashing towards her. Knowing she couldn't fight all of them she takes off in full speed now threw the woods running blindly .As Tika runs she can still hear the creatures crashing behind her. Running now for awhile Tika knows she can't run very much longer she see's a shack in a clearing up ahead and use the last bit of her speed and will to get her to the shack praying some how she would lose the creatures that chases ,rounding the back of the cabin she runs up the steps and trys the back door finding it not lock she steps in and shuts an locks it then falls to the floor from exhaustion.
